I grew up in Ruch, Oregon, the oldest of four and a country girl through and through. I love Jesus, my family, my friends, vino, coffee, athletics as a whole (volleyball especially), watching the sunset and/or sunrise, things outdoors, and have been known of late to be obsessed with Rockband (not something I'm taking with me to Jamaica). I received my bachelors in exercise science from Linfield College, in McMinnville, OR, never looking to leave the west coast. God had other plans for who I would become. I have spent the last three years outside of Philadelphia in Arcadia University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, pursuing a dream that began when I was 13. This February that dream became a reality, and I am now an official licensed physical therapist!
Among the new friends and family I’ve made out here in the east, I've also developed a heart for service. While at Arcadia I was able to travel to Guatemala, once, and Jamaica, twice, on pro-bono PT trips. They changed everything. In the last year I've been reassured time and again that God is not only calling me to serve Him internationally, but that He will fling open wide doors if only I will say "Yes, Lord."
As of now, I will be moving to Jamaica in late June to work with a rural community that although in incredible need, continues to show courage, perseverance and compassion. I couldn’t be more excited.
Jesus has been a part of my life since I was seven, however, this is the first time that I am truly discovering what it means to give it all to follow Him. My faith has been stretched and has grown more in the last year than at any time before. This next year will be a time devoted to Him and His people, getting the chance to be His hands and feet, sharing His love and His faithfulness everyday. I'm delighted to share in this new adventure with you and can't thank you enough for your continued support. I hope you’ll enjoy following along here. Be sure to keep in touch!
