Hello from Phila! This time last year I was preparing to take my first trip down to Jamaica, going on another international probono trip as a PT student. At that time I'd never imagined I'd be here today, just weeks away from moving there. God is good, my friends!
It was on that first trip down that I truly began to feel called to go international. After a summer full of prayer for direction and courage -- looking at possibilities of Bangladesh, Guatemala, Peru, and yes, Jamaica -- all doors opened towards Jamaica and things began to fall into place. I returned to Jamaica in November for a Stroke Camp (more on that later), and was reassured in the direction for the next year of my life. The culture and the people there are truly dear to my heart. I'm thrilled for this opportunity to not only serve the Lord with all that I am, but to reach out and impact the needs of His people. God has come through in ways far above and beyond all I could have imagined. These last few weeks have been pretty busy with paperwork, letters, and beginning to look into many of the details that need to be ironed out before leaving. New doubts and trials continue to arise but I find rest in knowing God has a plan for it all if I'll but trust in Him. To Him be the glory!
Thank you all for your prayers and support. I wouldn't be who I am today without you. There's no doubt in my mind that I am truly blessed to know so many amazing people. I look at this last year alone and know that so many of you have been instrumental in the adventure ahead. It is such a comfort to know that when challenges and troubles arise, I am surrounded by the power of prayer.
I am excited for this new chapter and even more delighted to be sharing it with you.
"We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ"
